We begin with the dress code so as to save any embarrassment for you and your travelling party.

Royal St George’s is a Private Members’ Club that, as you would expect, has traditional values. Although we understand they are not to everyone’s taste, we ask that you respect our rules and the staff that are asked to enforce them.

As the lead name for the booking, we ask you share this information with your guests before you travel.

Dress Code

Golfing attire is acceptable throughout the Club until 11.00am, after which jacket and tie is mandatory. Ladies are asked to dress appropriately, so as to complement the dress code applying to gentlemen. Golfing attire is allowed on terrace and in the Snack Bar throughout the day. Jeans are not to be worn under any circumstances.

No golf shoes or trainers are permitted in the Clubhouse at any time. Golf hoodies are not acceptable either in the Clubhouse or on the course.

Gentlemen may wear tailored shorts on the course if accompanied with long socks that fold-over at the knee.

Handicap Requirements

You will be aware that handicap certification must be provided upon arrival, the maximum handicap index of 18.4 applies to all golfers. A photograph of the document held on a smart phone is sufficient, or an introductory letter from your Home Club.

Caddies:

Royal St. George’s is a Championship venue, and therefore a much tougher test than most golf courses. It is highly recommended that visitors take a Caddie.

Caddie rates are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: £75 plus a tip.
A Forecaddie can be booked at £100 for the group.

Caddies may be requested through the Caddiemaster; 01304 626931 or caddiemaster@royalstgeorges.com (there is a 24hr cancellation policy for all Caddie bookings).

Buggies, Trolleys and Club Hire

Buggies may be hired on production of a medical certificate. They are driven by a Caddie for which the above rates apply.

Trolleys may be used on the course and may be hired from the Professional.

Phones

The use of mobile phones is confined to the car park.  They should not be used on the Course, in the Clubhouse or its’ surrounds.

Catering

Food is available at the Club from 7:30am – 4:00pm daily.

The Dining Room lunch is considered an integral part of the Club experience, this must be booked in advance – again through the Office. The dress code applies after 11am.
