Club Volunteering Portal

To ensure the effective running of the Clubhouse operation, we will need member volunteers to fill the following posts:

Clubhouse Rangers – members working in shifts in the Clubhouse, to welcome members and their guests, to support the successful running of the Dining Room, to support the security operation and to be prepared to act as a trouble-shooter when necessary.

Members’ Pass Office – to staff the ticket booth at the garden entrance to allow members’ guests to collect passes.

Club Runners – to act as helpers for the Clubhouse and Ticketing operation, either taking passes to/from the R&A Entry Gate or to pass messages to the Clubhouse Rangers.

Clubhouse Receptionists – to staff an information point in the hall to assist members and their guests.

Also, working for the R&A on course related tasks such as:

Score Board Carriers – a very popular role, ideal for junior or intermediate members aged 16 or over, who will need to have registered with the R&A previously. We will however, put forward our list of to the R&A of all those interested, to try and ensure our members get precedence.

Buggy drivers – the Club is now responsible for recruiting buggy drivers for many supporting activities, which will include transporting players from the Player’s Clubhouse to the Practice Tee and onwards. Only those with a valid Driving Licence are eligible for this role, and it is still to be determined as to whether we will be able to perform the role given the COVID restrictions the players will be under.

We would expect volunteers to work shifts of a reasonable duration (at least 3 hours at a time).

Those volunteering will be given preference when it comes to their lunch and dining requests during the week.

Please select which days you are available to volunteer in some capacity during The 149th Open. We ask that those volunteering commit to three 'shifts', equally those putting themselves forward throughout the week won't be asked to work every shift.

We hope to be in a position to confirm your roles towards the end of June.
